Lang is a collector of old lace. In 2007 he published an article about the Wiener Werkstätte for the book "Jugendstil, Entwerfer und Spitzen um 1900" (Art Nouveau, Designers and Laces around 1900).
From then on, he became enthused by these laces, especially those by Dagobert Peche (1887-1923).
He has since published articles on this subject. In reality no compilation of the work of Dagobert Peche had ever come on to the market. That has been put right with this book.
As rightly stated in the introduction of the book, an important chapter in Austrian lace history has definitively been recorded.
Anyone who wants to know more about the Wiener Werkstätte (founded in 1903) will find themselves amply catered for.
We also get a deep insight into Dagobert Peche for example that he was not himself a lacemaker. His designs were worked by other people.
Other designers are also covered. Over a hundred pieces of lace are pictured in this book.
